The Story

The Apple Gal began in the personal kitchen of former fourth-grade teacher, Morgan Francis. This wasn’t her first time selling caramel apples (or starting a new business, for that matter), but this was the first time she needed it to succeed.

After her first child was born in 2019, Morgan made a pivotal decision – she chose not to return to teaching. Instead, she began perfecting a caramel recipe and dipping apples in her home kitchen. Morgan said she initially “begged [her] friends and family to buy caramel apples.”

This humble start quickly blossomed into a booming business. As the Apple Gal’s signature caramel apples flew off the shelves, Morgan's venture evolved from a solo operation to a family affair, with relatives lending a hand in the kitchen and beyond. Eventually, East Texas’s demand for apples outgrew the capacity of Morgan’s home kitchen, and The Apple Gal Candy Co. proudly opened the doors to its brick-and-mortar shop in May 2023.

Morgan is the first to say that The Apple Gal has grown beyond its namesake ‘Gal,’ but her style, endless creativity, business acumen, marketing genius, and keep-it-real attitude direct the business’s promising future.
